Power Garbage Trucks

I used to see men going from bins to bins and picking up the bins and empty them into the back of the garbage trucks. Things and I mean garbage trucks had come a long way since I used to watch with fascination the first back loader loading trash and compacting them.

Below is a video of side loading and front loading garbage trucks. Almost robotics and toally one man operation.




The working of both system is just great. However I would prefer the front loading garbage truck as the operator can see what's he is picking up and he is looking towards the front. The side picking garbage truck will need the operator to look at the side to make sure he does the correct picking, unless the truck has built in sensors or a network of mirrors.

Another thing I note is the cars are all parked nicely in the garage or inside the houses compounds. None of the cars are on the road side. Hardly this will work in other neighborhood. Well maybe they have laws to control this and may be garbage trucks has the right of way.
